Distance sales, in general

When a UK trader sells goods at a distance to a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 often give a cancellation right, commonly 14 days from delivery, with exceptions. Examples of exceptions include some goods made to the consumer’s specification, and sealed goods that are unsealed when they cannot be returned for health protection. This paragraph is general information, not legal advice, and it is not the company’s procedure.

A page of gaps does not replace those rules, and it does not waive them. It also does not invent a longer promise than the law requires.

Decisions still required

  • The address goods should be returned to. Do not use the registered office unless the company decides that it accepts parcels there.
  • Who pays return postage, in the ordinary case and where the goods are faulty.
  • The time window the company will offer, which cannot be shorter than a statutory minimum that applies to the sale.
  • How a refund is paid, and when.
  • What condition is expected if goods are sent back.
  • How faults and items that are not as described are handled, separately from a change-of-mind return.

THE CORGI GAME LTD has not published a returns address. Demonstration listings are not goods you can send back, because they are not stock.
